The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is one of the approved
“New Movements” in the Church.
It is listed in “The Pontifical Council for the Laity’s Directory of International Associations of the Faithful”.
In a decree dated September 14, 1993, the Pontifical Council for the Laity granted official recognition of ICCRS (International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services).
The directory is very informative and lists one hundred twenty-two approved new movements. Other well known movements listed are Opus Dei, Legion of Mary, Cursillo, Schoenstatt, Focolare, Marriage Encounter.
